I was born and grew up in Derby, UK, and for as long as I can remember I've loved books. I went to Liverpool to study archaeology, and to Sheffield to study more archaeology, and spent time working as a bookseller.

Then, after more than a decade spent making up stories about the past, I decided to make up stories about other stuff too. I left the suburbs behind to write in the countryside, drinking too much coffee and eating too many snacks.

I'm represented by Felicity Blunt at Curtis Brown. My debut YA novel will published in 2022.
