Sarah Daniels is an author, founder and archaeologist working in children's and YA books and public engagement.

Her debut novel, The Stranded, was published by Penguin Random House in the UK and Sourcebooks Fire in the US. It was followed by The Exiled, (published in the US as The Only Way Out) and Déjà Donna, a commissioned story featuring Donna Noble and the Tenth Doctor for Doctor Who: Origin Stories.

Before writing fiction, Sarah pursued a career in zooarchaeology. Her publications include editorial roles for The Oxford Handbook of Zooarchaeology., editing and contributing to Dynamics of Neolithisation in Europe, and writing her own monograph on prehistoric pig and cattle exploitation in Britain. (She thinks pigs are pretty cool, actually).

Sarah is founder of the Story Forge Project, and the editor of Annotate, a new quarterly magazine celebrating YA books and reading. Alongside writing she is a trustee of the School Library Association and The Children’s Bookshow.

Sarah lives in Lincoln where she enjoys the gothic darkness of her surroundings, with four children, one cat, and very little silence.
